Drugs : Educate yourself
to educate others
« It is imperative to avoid taking drugs for the first time »
Raymond Yans is President of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), an independent organization for the implementation of the United Nations drug conventions. He asks of those responsible, of teachers and of parents not to lower their guard in the face of the increasing trivialization of cannabis.
Because young people need to know the truth about drugs. They represent a considerable part of the drug market, of the medical aid, follow up and counseling
Because parents are the primary educations and specialists in their children (see Guy Gilbert quotation)
Because parents are motivated by love, they speak the truth
Because you cannot talk in a relevant, objective and scientific manner without knowing the subject
Because with confidence comes control, it is vital to discuss with your children in a relevant way in order to bring them solid arguments if needed
Because the information diffused amongst youth in schools does not always tell the truth
Because parents and adults who want to do good by young people are more numerous than drug dealers
Because drugs are everywhere
Because the misinformation about drugs, which is primary source of income globally along with arms and petrol, is distributed on a wide scale
Because just as we do not let a child drive a car without a licence, it is irresponsible to let your children go out without knowing the danger of drugs
Because when we are informed we can see the consequences of drug consumption, we can read between the lines of press articles, of radio and television broadcasts
Because learning from a website, during a training session, or an Enfance Sans Drogue seminar requires little time and provides a lot of knowledge
Because one informed person can inform 10 more in his social circle: friends and family, colleagues.
