This is a new phenomena. Young people are consuming alcohol in greater and greater quantities to enhance the effect of the drug. Alcohol can be called a potentializer.

Alcohol is legal and acceptable to parents, young people are open with bottles but simultaneously hide their drug use. Therefore, the majority of parents think their children consume a lot of alcohol. This is true, but they do not know that this is only part of the picture, young people consume alcohol and cannabis or alcohol and other drugs.

Dr Chamayou, author of the thesis “The dangers of hashish: the latest scientific discoveries on cannabis” (see our References section), states “A rat which is given cannabis will start to drink alcohol. Without cannabis, it will not drink [alcohol])”.

Cannabis remains stored in body fat for over 28 days, it opens the door to consuming large amounts of alcohol.
